Short Course: Parameter Estimation and Uncertainty Quantification with PEST++ and pyEMU

Preliminary course structure:

  1. Overview of PEST/PEST++ and mechanics
  2. Theory of the Gauss Levenberg Method
  3. Setting up a model with zones
  4. Data worth analysis with zones
  5. Overview/refresher of geostatistics
  6. Setting up a pilot point network model
  7. Parameter estimation with pilot points
  8. Data worth analysis with pilot points

Software installation instructions will be provided to those who bring their own laptop. (Approx. a week before the course)

 

The number of course participants is limited to 20.

The course is free of charge for PhD students but participants are expected to cover their own travel, food, and accommodation expenses.

We also welcome international PhD students but in case of oversubscription to the course we may give priority to national PhD students.

If you come from outside the Copenhagen area please wait with your purchase of air tickets and booking of hotel room until you have received a personal email confirming that you are accepted on the course.

Tea and coffee will be available during the course.

(Tip: ask for superior room "away" from the train tracks)
